  • Onion
  • Carrot

Procedure:

  7. Put the dough on top and press the edges with a fork. Cook for 25 to 30 minutes.

  1. I am just here to let you know that this diet is amazing. Yes,its so much work and it takes great dedication, but in the end its worth it. I am 42 years old. Well 4 years ago I got laid off, I lost my motivation and pretty much gave up on life. I ballooned up and gained 40 pounds! One day I went to a book store and looked around while my daughter shopped in the mall. I stumbled and bought the book by Colette Heimowitz. It is a very organized book. This diet has helped me so much. I am so glad that you are writing about it so other people can be inspired to try this diet. I was always an outdoors type of gal, and now you can catch me hunting, cycling, rollerblading and just enjoying life. Phase 3 is the hardest one for me, the reason is, because I started eating starchy carbs such as potatoes and I also ate sweet potatoes., but working so many hours a day gets me so tired, so one night I stopped at McDonalds and went crazy on french fries, yes i know they are terrible. My excuse was that, it was allowed on the Atkins diet, needless to say I gained back 5 lbs that week:( Does anyone have any tips on how to stay focused??

  4. If you are going to do the Atkins diet I really suggest that you are fully committed to a lifestyle change. Like any diet, this diet works if you stick to it and if you work out. The reason that I say this, is because I did this diet a few years ago, at first I lost weight. But I went overboard and never ate carbs, well as soon as I “quit” and went back to my regular eating habits I gained back so much weight.

  8. I lost 10 lbs on the atkins a few years back, and kept it off. Would definitely recommend it! The low carb period was really hard for me, but after finishing the diet I found myself not craving carby stuff as much as I did!

  9. i think most new diets really build on the atkins diet…it’s good, but i think everyone should adapt it to suit their needs, everybody’s body is different 😀 that chicken pot pie recipe looks delish though, i’ll make some for me and the hubby over the weekend!

    • Maria, I completely agree with you. Many diets nowadays are based off the Atkins diet. The reasons can be that this diet was introduced in the 70’s. It has a pretty good track record, and you can maintain a healthy weight while you are on it, since it slowly introduces different food groups.
