Fiber not only lowers your blood sugar, but also cuts cholesterol, helps you avoid hemorrhoids, and prevents colon cancer. If it were a medication, the entire world would be bawling for it. However, there are very few people who are getting an adequate amount of this substance every day.

Did you know it is necessary for women to have at least 25 grams per day and men no less than 35 grams?

Unfortunately, an average person today gets only around 15 grams every day, which is, of course, not enough. Having foods and drinks rich in this nutrient is the finest way to boost your fiber intake.

  1. Great List! I have been looking for a good brand of Orange flavored low calorie powder, can anyone recommend a brand???

  2. I am addicted to coffee, i drink at least 9 cups a day. I am trying to switch over to Cereal Grain Beverage, the flavor is ok but It doesn’t give the boost of energy I need.

  3. As a Latin American, I grew up drinking horachata. It is very good. A lot of latin restaurants carry this drink. It tastes very good and its full of fiber- thanks for sharing. I hope more people will try it

  4. Honestly, I’ve never heard of any of these, and frankly they don’t sounds all that awesome. I am interested in trying the cereal grain beverage you have listed at #1 just because it’s a coffee substitute. I’ve recently cut down to one cup of coffee to try and watch out for my health, but I still really miss a hot cup of something after meals, and tea just isn’t satisfying all the time. Where would I find some of this cereal beverage? Does it really taste like coffee?

  5. Interesting article Christine… Fiber is a must in our diet, for regularity and well being. Some of things listed here are really healty too, love it!

  6. I am curious about Cereal Grain Beverage too… I love tea though and I have noticed that I get headache if I don’t drink at least one cup of tea a day. However, I don’t like to be controlled by anything I eat or drink and I feel like tea is doing precisely that… From the last month I have been trying green tea… argggg it was not good at all although I know they are healthy and that. So I will give this one a go and try others you have mentioned as I do need much more fiber in my diet.

  7. This would be some liquid diet 🙂 I hear a lot about going on liquid diets but none of them have appealed to me. I might be able to based on this list of of drinks. In all seriousness, i never knew many of these had a decent amount of fiber in them.

    • Hi Ann, thank you for stopping by! Yes, some of these drinks are rich on fiber and hence very beneficial for weight reduction. However, I would not recommend you diet based only on liquids as this is not very healthy!

  8. I’m curious as to what a Cereal Grain Beverage example would be. I am a coffee drinker and this sparks my curiosity.
